Have you ever wanted to become an ace at poker? Ever wanted to kick your mates butts and win the jackpot? Now's your chance to learn how! Just follow these steps and you will be throwing down a full house every time..
Steps
1. Research: First you have to know how to play. Try purchasing a poker card deck. This should include rules on how to play the game and how you can win a hand. If you don't want to do this, look up the rules on the internet and maybe look at a video.2. Practice, Practice, Practice!: If you are ever going to be good at anything, you have to practice! Start off with small games with your mates without money involved. This way you get a basic gist of the game and how to play if you didn't already. Don't get annoyed if you don't do well, it's all part of learning.
3. Bluffing: Bluffing is one of the most used tricks in poker to win a hand. Learn how to do this correctly and you will have an advantage over all the other players. Try looking online on how to bluff in a game of poker.
4. Don't try too hard: It's no good trying to win every hand. If your completely stuck you've got two options, bluffing or fold. If you allow yourself to lose a few hands it will prove to the other players that you are not someone who will bluff 24/7. Don't bluff often, do it when your in for good money, if it's over few small chips or maybe even your entire stock of chips, I wouldn't recommend you do so unless you are 100% sure that the other player is lying.
5. Play fairly!: Nobody likes a cheater. If you do give up with learning and just try to cheat, you could get yourself into trouble with other players if they catch you and you won't have the sense of accomplishment if they don't. Just play a fair game.
6. Enjoy: That's all pretty much to it. Enjoy beating your friends in a game of poker!
Tips
-When bluffing, try not to use it repeatedly. If you do, other players will know what your up too and see through your bluff and you may lose chips.
-You could purchase a poker game for your games consle which will allow you to play by yourself.
-If you know somebody who is good at poker, ask them to lend you a hand and teach you what they know.
Warnings
Do not bet any money you don't have! (normally you will put your money in the pot at the beginning but if this doesn't happen don't bet any if your skint)
